Aging Skin
Dermal Fillers (Soft Tissue Augmentation)
Dermal fillers are used to correct wrinkles and replace volume loss from the skin.
Types of Fillers Pima Dermatology Offers
- Restylane by Medicis, is a non-animal derived hyaluronic acid that corrects structural line, scarring, wrinkles, and is able to define the lip line. Lasts approximately 6-9 months.
- Perlane by Medicis, requires no skin test, is also non-animal derived hyaluronic acid that corrects volume, scarring and wrinkles. Lasts approximately 6-9 months.
- Juvederm by Allergan requires no skin test, is a non-animal derived hyaluronic acid and corrects volume, scarring and wrinkles. Lasts approximately 6-12 months.
- Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast by Inamed are human derived collagen, which correct volume, scarring, wrinkles and is able to define the lip line. Lasts up to 3 months.
Procedure
Topical numbing will be applied at the time of appointment. A dental block is also an option for patients who are having their lips treated.
Common side effects:
Bruising can occur at injection sites.
Cost
Dermal filler is charged by the syringe. The approximate syringe cost is between $450-$600.
