About Dr. Barth
Dr. Garin Barth is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon with a special interest in cosmetic laser surgery.
He graduated with honors from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., and received his medical degree in 1987 from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
From 1987 to 1990, Dr. Barth completed his residency in family practice at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, S.C. Dr. Barth then received intensive specialty training at the highly acclaimed residency program in dermatology and dermatological laser surgery at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
He completed an additional two years in the dermatology residency program at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, completing the program as the Chief Resident from January through June 1994. In September 1994, he attained board certification as a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and was elected as a Fellow to the American Academy of Dermatology.
He is also a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, the Georgia Society of Dermatologists, the Atlanta Dermatological Society, the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, the American Society of Dermatology, a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the Troup County Medical Society.
Since 1991, Dr. Barth and his staff have performed thousands of procedures with more than ten different cosmetic surgical lasers. This vast experience allows Dr. Barth to determine the safest and most effective laser treatment for you.
Dr. Barth remains actively involved in continuing education to allow him to bring the newest techniques and the latest technology to his practice of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology at West Georgia Dermatology.
After establishing his practice in LaGrange in 1994, he brought the first cosmetic surgical laser to LaGrange. Having grown to eight cosmetic lasers, his practice remains the area’s premiere cosmetic laser surgery center.
Dr. Barth is recognized as an expert in his field and has lectured to and trained many physicians. He also has a high interest in educating the public, recognizing the importance of public awareness and patient education.
