Aging Skin

Sculptra® is an injectable product that restores and corrects the signs of fat loss. It is effective in filling wrinkles and furrows, making the skin appear smoother and firmer. Sculptra® provides an increase in skin thickness in areas where fat has been lost, restoring fullness and a more youthful appearance to the face, and is also effective for the hands.

OVERVIEW

Excellent results can be achieved with Sculptra® when treating all parts of the face including the forehead, around the eyes, the mouth and the cheeks. It can add volume to the cheeks, to folds around the chin and to rings around the eyes.
Sculptra® treatment benefits:

• Restores volume by filling in well defined wrinkles, creases and areas of soft tissue loss with a safe poly-L-lactic acid (a protein found naturally in the skin). Skin appears smoother and firmer.
• Excellent results are achieved in the nasolabial folds and the cheeks.
• Long lasting results can last up to three years.

TREATMENT

A topical anesthetic may be used prior to injection. A fine needle is used to inject Sculptra®. The area is massaged to manipulate the material into position. Treatment generally takes 15 to 30 minutes. Swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur and will disappear within a week. You can resume your normal activities immediately.
During your consultation a Trillium Creek medical professional will examine areas of soft tissue deficiency and determine the appropriate number of treatments and the amount of Sculptra® you will need. Most patients require 2 to 3 treatments every 4 weeks. Some patients do best with a combination of Sculptra® and another filler, or with a Botox® treatment for total non-surgical facial restoration.

RESULTS

Results from Sculptra® are not immediate. Sculptra® provides a gradual increase in soft tissue and skin thickness, evident within 2 months. However, results are long lasting – up to 3 years. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effects.
